Preditor

What looks like it might be an eye is actually a mouth. This creature is visually 'blind' as it has no eyes, but its delicately spiraled 'ears' combined with an ultra-high-pitched clicking-squeal, allow it to easily, accurately, sonically, find and consume all the prey it needs, as well as easily elude any would-be preditor-attack.

These creatures live at very high altitudes, mostly following the whims of the jet stream currents, feeding off lost migrating birds, careful to eat only the birds small enough not to bring their soft floating bodies crashing down to earth.

They live their entire lives up in the sky, only touching the Earth below after they have died high above.
